Join us on the 5 July for a cycle ride around the collieries of East Kent. The ride will be broken up by a series of informal talks, outlining the rich history of the Kent collieries and the coal mining communities that surrounded them.

Canterbury - Fordwich

Meet 10.30 Canterbury West Station
This is a short ride from Canterbury West to Fordwich then back on the same route. Lunch at The George and Dragon in Fordwich. Ride Leader: Beatrice Shire ([email protected] / 07484 863554).

Spokes objectives
  1. To encourage cycling and publicise its benefits for the community and for individuals.
  2. To ensure that local authority and government policies actively encourage cycling and make full provision for it as part of an overall transport strategy.
This is to ensure that all members of the public can enjoy cheap, safe and environmentally-sound travel for work and leisure.
