There has been a recent spate of cycle thefts at the University of Kent in Canterbury. If you have had a bike stolen in the past six months and you live in the Spokes area, we would like to hear from you with the exact location. Please contact the editor of Mudguard -  editor@spokeseastkent.org.uk

Cllr. Sally Waters, Lord Mayor of Canterbury 2015-16, says, "I'd like to say a big thanks to Spokes, and particularly their Chair Steve Fawke, for refurbishing Canterbury's civic bike. It's had a clean, a tyre check, a new sign - and a new bell! "

The bike was  lovingly restored in the Freewheel cycle pub and cafe's specialist cycle workshop near Faversham - see slideshow above.  Their state of the art facility can carry out scheduled bike repairs and services on all types of bicycle, and also offers emergency repairs if you find yourself in trouble on a ride in their area.  They offer a local area collection and return service.

The Lord Mayor added, "If a local cycling group would like to invite me along to an event, please do so on the website - www.canterbury.gov.uk/lordmayor"
