Saturday 5 May, Catha's Seat picnic
Catha's Seat annual picnic this year will take place on 5 May from 13.00 to 15.00. There will be walks and rides from surrounding towns and villages, a locally sourced picnic, live music and a chance of hear about last year's award winners.
Sunday 6 May, Minster - Deal
Sunday 6 May 10.30 am starting at Minster station (Thanet). Ride to Deal via St Augustine's landing site, then to Sandwich on cycle route reaching Deal via the golf course. Depending on numbers, lunch in Deal at the Black Douglas café or one of the other restaurants/pubs or the end of the pier café. Bank Holiday weekend so could be busy. Return journey is via Fowlmead Park. Around 25 miles. Leader: Beatrice Shire – 07484 863554.
Sunday 6 May, Pilgrims Hospices Cycle Challenge
Kent’s biggest charity ride is back for its 9th year! An opportunity to explore the beautiful Kent countryside with friends, family and colleagues and raise money for the hospices. The Cycle Challenge is designed for cyclists of all abilities with three ride distances – 100, 75 and 45 miles. All routes will start from, and finish at, the event village at the University of Kent near Canterbury. This is more than just a registration area. It's a cycling festival with trade stands, Dr Bike mechanics, sports massage, local cycling interest groups, hot food and drinks and much more! Ample free parking is available across the campus. Wednesday 16 May, Wheel Potential open day, Toddlers Cove, Canterbury
Wheel Potential’s Open Day is on Wednesday 16 May from 10.30am to 2pm at Toddlers Cove, Canterbury CT2 8BG. Wheel Potential was setup in early 2016 with the aim to provide an open-air cycling experience for less-able adults in the Canterbury district, using a safe environment and adapted cycling machines. Come along to meet the organisers, the participating groups, try out cycles and find out more about the charity’s plans.
Sunday 3 June, Faversham to Bowl Inn, Charing
Around 22 miles in total from Faversham to the Bowl Inn at Charing with, hopefully, lunch there and then back to Faversham. Suitable for all bikes but it will be a hilly ride so only for those happy with climbing. Electric bikes welcome. Meet at 10.30 at Faversham Station. Ride leader: Andrew Wyver.

Goats and Horses closure
The Goats and Horses Tunnel under the railway line at Wincheap is closed for six weeks. Diversion stickers will be put in place by Spokes. Starting from the bridge under Rheims Way or the large bull sculpture nearby, cyclists are advised to go along the Great Stour Way to the bridge which will take them to the Wincheap Park and Ride, and then back towards the Wincheap estate.
